general
maginot is a ridleyverse-inspired game set in the year 2125. taking cues from the alien, blade runner and predator universes, the uscss democritus is a research vessel owned by weyland-yutani corporation that, much like its predecessors the uscss maginot and the uscss nostromo, was sent into deep space to research and retrieve alien specimen and technologies and bring back to earth with not the hope, but expectation what happened before will not happen again.

we expect all members to be kind and welcoming to others—whether they are long-time participants or prospective newcomers. this should go without saying. please do not blur the lines between in-character and out-of-character interactions. if any conflict arises that cannot be resolved between the involved parties, moderators are always available to step in and help address the issue. our goal is to not only have fun, but foster a friendly, collaborative and creative environment where everyone can enjoy developing their characters and storylines without worry.
joining
each writer may have up to two characters by default. however, please be mindful of your availability before taking on an additional character. we ask that members keep usernames simple—avoid overly long names, excessive underscores, or unnecessary numbers. journals may be ooc or ic, depending on what suits your character best.

every character must include basic information, such as:
  • name
  • age
  • species (human, cyborg, synthetic)
  • occupation
  • a short bio, blurb or fact sheet
full biographies are not required at this time, though you’re welcome to write one. we reserve the right to request a full bio in the future if needed. otherwise, please ensure your friends list is cleared, and any posts like bios, blurbs, or spam entries are backdated to prevent cluttering the friends page.
activity
while we do expect you to respond to comments and participate in group plots, members are expected to post once a month to submit as activity. this activity can take any form as long as effort is shown. acceptable forms include: instagram-style posts, high-chatter posts with engagement and thoughtful ic content such as narratives or journal entries. single question posts and one-line lyrical content with no context are not ideal and will not be counted.

hiatuses and extensions are always available. if something comes up or you need time, just check in and let us know you're still around—we're happy to work with you. please note: if you are on hiatus, it is expected that you're unable to participate. we should not see comments on the friends page or activity during that time lest we'll assume you are available.
